Flower Duet

Listen and dream of spring . . .

Nonsensical actions . . .

My husband went to a cardiologist appointment yesterday, and when he came out, someone had poured concrete into a pothole behind his truck. Yes, this really happened.

I read in the news that a 12 year old girl was arrested and taken IN HANDCUFFS to the police station for doodling on her desk at school.

Dear me. What a nutty world!

Poor Punxsutawney Phil!

Punxsutawney Phil, the official prognosticator of groundhog day, is having a really bad winter. Not only did he see his shadow today, he is also the center of a controversy. PETA wants Phil to be replaced by an animatronic robot! Confidentially, Phil told me that it really worried him to be portrayed by a robot. He doesn't want it to look like "one of those creepy robots from Disney!" Maybe a hand puppet would be better???

Poor little critter! Here is his official proclamation:

Greetings from Punxsutawney!
Phil Says Six More Weeks!
Phil's official forecast as read February 2nd, 2010 at sunrise at Gobbler's Knob:
Hear Ye Hear Ye Hear Ye
On Gobbler's Knob on this glorious Groundhog Day, February 2nd, 2010, Punxsutawney Phil, Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of all Prognosticators awoke to the call of President Bill Deeley and greeted his handlers, John Griffiths and Ben Hughes.
After casting a joyful eye towards thousands of his faithful followers, Phil proclaimed, "If you want to know next, you must read my text. As the sky shines bright above me, my shadow I see beside me. So six more weeks of winter it will be."

Shoveling Snow

We had a large and beautiful snowfall and today I got to shovel snow. I really do love it. We forgot to take pictures, but perhaps this montage will give you the general idea:

You can take the girl out of Minnesota, but . . .
